# Elite Quality Index (EQx)

The Elite Quality Index (EQx) is a political economy index developed by the Foundation for Value Creation. It ranks countries by Elite Quality, understood as the aggregate impact of elites on sustainable value creation versus value extraction.

EQx2026 is the 7th annual edition. It covers 151 countries and is structured across 1 overall score, 4 political economy index areas, 12 pillars, and 148 indicators. The index includes Power and Value sub-indexes, country rankings, interactive maps, comparison tools, methodology materials, and downloadable annual reports.
